IT STUDENTS & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS (4 months)

JOB DUTIES
As part of your responsibilities as an Electrical Engineering Student, you will contribute to the following projects:

  • Distribution system infrastructure study and reporting
  • Traffic signal load profile review and analysis     
  • Review/align equipment standards with other utilities - supply chain availability
  • Technical documentation update
  • Distribution System Planning
  • Distribution System Reliability Study
  • Distributed generation processing
  • Material and construction standards and analysis

As part of your responsibilities as a Computer Science Student, you will contribute to the following projects:

  • Ontario Green Button Initiative - development and advancement of systems to provide customers    with access to their energy data
  • Mobile Computing and App Development
  • Cloud Computing - advancing London Hydro's use of the cloud platform
  • Cyber Security - advancing London Hydro's existing work on ensuring data security
  • Behind-the-meter smart home devices and home energy solutions
  • Big data analytics using leading cloud service solutions
  • SAP Customer Information and Billing System Refresh


QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified Students we seek must be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Have completed at least one year of a Computer Science or Electrical Engineering program.

IT Students with skills and knowledge of the following would be an asset:

  • Web and mobile design and development using open-source tools
  • Computer networks
  • Data Analytics and AI
  • Network and cyber security systems
  • Related Industry Knowledge
