Ysni Semsedini

Ysni Semsedini, London Hydro CEO

With over 20 years of experience in the electricity distribution, telecommunications, manufacturing, and healthcare industries, Ysni Semsedini is known for his collaborative approach, working closely with employees, shareholders, stakeholders, and the community at large to foster innovation and nurture partnerships.

Ysni's career includes a previous tenure at London Hydro along with executive positions at several other Local Distribution Companies in the Province. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science (B.ESc) in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Engineering Science (M.ESc) in Power Systems from Western University. Additionally, Ysni earned an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

A respected thought leader, Ysni has built strong relationships within the electrical distribution sector and actively serves on multiple boards. He is dedicated to driving London Hydro's strategic vision forward, pursuing sustainable growth, and positioning the corporation as an industry leader in the electrification economy.


Board Chair

Connie Graham, BSc, ICD.D.

Board Chair Connie Graham

Ms. Connie Graham was appointed to the London Hydro Board of Directors in 2011.  She served as Chair of both the Human Resources and Policy Committee and the Governance and Risk Committee prior to her election to Vice-Chair of the Board in 2019 and Board Chair in 2022.

Ms. Graham majored in Biochemistry in her undergraduate studies, earning her BSc from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.  After concluding her professional career in sales and marketing management with science and technology corporations such as Varian, IBM and General Electric Medical Systems, she became an active volunteer on the boards of many London, Ontario not-for-profit charitable and educational entities such as the Boys and Girls Club of London, the Fanshawe College Board of Governors and Chair of the Habitat for Humanity and Fanshawe College Foundation Boards. Her passion for reducing the impact of poverty on children and families through housing, mentoring and educational opportunities was recognized by the Honourable Edwin Holder with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. 

Concurrent to her role as Chair of London Hydro, Ms. Graham also serves on the Board of the Ontario Technical Standards and Safety Authority.  She recently concluded a seven-year term as Chair of the Federal Bridge Corporation (responsible for construction, operations, security and maintenance of major international bridge crossings serving the United States and Canada).


Vice Chair

Andrew N. Hrymak, BEng, Ph.D.

Professor Hrymak  has served as Special Advisor to the President on Industry Partnerships, the Green Economy, and Sustainability, Provost & Vice-President, Academic  and Dean of Engineering at Western University.  He serves as Director of the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Composites Research at  Western University. Professor Hrymak holds a BEng degree from McMaster University and a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Fellow of both the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Chemical Institute of Canada, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.

Tania Goodine, MBA, B.A.P.S.Y.

Board Member Tania Goodine

Appointed to the London Hydro Board of Directors in 2021, Tania has been with Libro Credit Union since 1990. In her role as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Innovation, she helps Libro to develop and sustain a strong culture, build its brand and grow in southwestern Ontario’s communities.

Tania holds a Masters of Business Administration from York University and a Bachelor of Arts in honours psychology from Western University. She is a lifelong learner, having completed several executive education programs over her career.

Tania lives in downtown London, where she and her husband enjoy gardening, playing golf, and staying connected with the community. Her community involvement includes service as a member of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of London.

 

Tracy Gustafson, CPA, CA

Board Member Tracy Gustafson

Tracy began her career in Toronto, Ontario where she obtained her CPA, CA Designation.  She worked with multinational public corporations running several accounting projects in a variety of industries.  Tracy moved to London in 2001 and has been focusing her career advising private corporations on a vast array of business and taxation issues. Tracy served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Health Foundation where she acquired an in-depth knowledge of the continuum of care for children in Southwestern Ontario and across the country.  She has also gained valuable experience in the software development and data analytics industry as the Director of Product Management for a healthcare data insights company.  She joined Valente CPAs in 2018 and is honoured to be working alongside the brilliant partners and staff.

 

Guy Holburn, Ph.D., M.A., B.A. Hons

Guy Holburn

Appointed to the London Hydro Board in 2017, Guy Holburn is Professor of Business, Economics and Public Policy at Ivey Business School, Western University. An expert on the intersection of business strategy and public policy, much of his research and teaching is applied to strategy and policy issues in the energy and utility sectors in Canada, the United States, and internationally.

Dr. Holburn joined Ivey in July 2001 after completing his Ph.D. in Business and Public Policy and M.A. in Economics at the University of California, Berkley. He is the founder and former Director of the Ivey Energy Policy and Management Centre, Canada’s leading university-based centre for research and outreach on national energy issues. He is also a member of the Council for Clean and Reliable Energy. 

Before his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Holburn worked for several years as a management consultant with Bain and Company in London, England, and was a founding member of the Bain South Africa office. His undergraduate degree (Economics, B.A. Hons. First Class) is from Cambridge University.

 

Councillor Corrine Rahman, M.A.

Corrine Rahman

Corrine Rahman was elected as the Councillor for Ward 7 for the 2022-2026 term of Council. Corrine was appointed to London Hydro’s Board of Directors in November 2022.

Corrine earned an Honours B.A. in Communications Studies and a general B.A. political science from the University of Windsor. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in Leadership studies from the University of Guelph. Corrine completed a graduate certificate in human resource management and a certificate in negotiations and dispute resolution.

Corrine is a Professor at Fanshawe College in the Business Management graduate certificate program. She served as a Trustee for Thames Valley District School Board from 2018-2022. She was the West Regional lead for the Justice of the Peace Appointments Advisory Committee from 2016-2019. She is also a past member of the Judicial Appointments Advisory committee for the region.

Corrine values relationship building, hard work and open communication. She is an advocate for smart development, affordability and budget-conscious decision-making. She champions a diverse and welcoming London.  She resides in Ward 7 with her husband and three children.


Tim Watson, CFA, ICD.D

Tim Watson

Mr. Watson was appointed to the London Hydro Board in 2023.

After growing up in London and graduating from Ivey Business School, he spent 25 years in the investment banking sector, completing financing and M&A advisory assignments while based in Toronto, Calgary, San Francisco, and Houston.  He served as Managing Director with RBC Capital Markets, CIBC World Markets, and was head of the Canadian energy infrastructure group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  He then served as Executive Vice President and CFO at AltaGas Ltd., a large publicly-traded North American infrastructure company with regulated utilities.  At AltaGas, he oversaw financial reporting, treasury, tax, risk, financial planning, enterprise risk management, insurance, investor relations, corporate development, M&A, and helped lead acquisitions and divestitures.

Most recently, Mr. Watson served as CFO at a smaller private software company in Toronto, working closely with its founders in raising capital and strategic planning.  He currently lectures part-time at Ivey Business School, teaching M&A and Investment Banking.  He is a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Director (ICD.D) with the Institute of Corporate Directors. He has also completed the Chartered Investment Management (CIM) certification and various other executive education and ICD programs.  He has over 10 years of experience serving on both for-profit and not-for-profit boards.
