London Hydro and the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) have once again partnered for the 13th year of making native trees available and affordable for residents of London. The London Hydro Tree Power program launched in 2012 and has been so well received it has become an annual program as well as inspiring Tree Powers in other municipalities.

“Tree Power is one of our most successful programs with London residents and, after 13 years, we are excited to have new and returning customers take advantage of it. It’s a great way for Londoners to plant native trees in their yards. Thanks to the sponsorship of London Hydro, we can provide trees to residents at a very affordable price,” said Robert Davies, UTRCA Forestry and Restoration Supervisor.

There are 12 tree species available: American Sycamore, Black Cherry, Bur Oak, Downy Serviceberry, Eastern White Pine, Hackberry, Norway Spruce, Paper Birch, Red Maple, Red Oak, Swamp White Oak and Tulip trees. These species were selected as they are well-suited to the area.

London Hydro Tree Power orders will open online on Monday, March 10th at 10 am: online ordering available here. The trees will be available for pick-up at Fanshawe Conservation Area in London on April 11th and 12th.
